The SAM-DT is a member of the SAM family of headend monitoring transponders. The SAM-DT is specifically designed to monitor the C-Cor Diamond Transport line of products. In addition it also monitors the 1550 Diamond Link products. The SAM connects to a daisy chain of Diamond Transport equipment using a RJ-11 cable (included). Acting as a proxy for the Diamond Transport equipment, the SAM collects the monitoring information using the Diamond Transport protocol and presents the information to the OmniMCU™ in a format identical to other OmniStat™ transponders.
The SAM-DT plugs into any slot in the TAM Headend Monitoring System. Any combination of SAM modules may be used in a TAM to create a monitoring solution tailored to the unique combination of equipment in the headend.
The SAM communicates with the Omni2000™ MCU using either the RS485 interface or the RF modem in the TAM chassis. The SAM itself has no frequency dependencies.
The SAM is controlled by the OmniStat control system consisting of the OmniMCU, connected to a computer system running the Omni2000 Software. The SAM can monitor the full set of parameters provided by the Diamond Transport equipment.
Two front panel LEDs indicate communications with the OmniMCU and Diamond Transport equipment.
