Model 9362C DOCSIS Transponder

 Model 9362C DOCSIS Power Supply Transponder

 AM Networks announces the Model 9362C, an improved version of the 9362 DOCSIS power supply transponder. The 9362C is a drop-in replacement for the 9362 (see note), with the following additional features:
  1. DOCSIS 2.0 certification;
  2. Mis-wiring protection to prevent unit damage when battery wires are improperly connected;
  3. A USB local port to enable installation verification and troubleshooting;
  4. Use of AC-scaled level from USM card to report output voltage (calibration no longer necessary);
  5. Integrated DC power supply – a separate DC power cable is no longer needed.

 Note on backwards compatibility with the 9362:

The Model 9362C has been designed with backwards compatibility in mind, to facilitate an easy transition to the 9362C for existing 9362 customers. The 9362 and the 9362C use the same firmware image. All 9362 wiring harnesses are compatible with the 9362C. The DC power supply cable, while not need with the 9362C, can be plugged in without any risk of damage.

Because the 9362C now uses AC-scaling from the USM card, a switch/jumper setting on the USM card must be changed when replacing a 9362 with a 9362C. This is the only difference in hardware configuration between the two models.

The 9362C is a DC-powered device only; i.e., it cannot be powered by the AC output of the power supply. The 9362 is still available from AM Networks to support those rare instances where the unit must be powered by the AC output because the power supply does not have DC standby power.
